Learning at St Monica's Catholic Primary
St Monica's is a place where curiosity, imagination and love of learning thrive through working together to provide the most effective, engaging and challenging learning experiences for students. We provide and support a quality Catholic education that prepares each child for the future through caring and innovative teaching.
As part of a system of Catholic schools in the Diocese of Parramatta, we’re working together to transform learning for students in Greater Western Sydney. This means reimagining and refreshing learning and teaching for today’s world and today’s learners.
The purpose and promise of a Catholic education is to inspire each learner - student, teacher and family - to discover a meaningful and flourishing life.
Our Faith Journey
St Monica's is a great place for students to grow in faith and learning. We provide opportunities for students to connect with the Catholic faith and traditions in a meaningful way; and our caring, Catholic community brings to life the teachings of the Gospel in all that we do. This is reflected in the school’s liturgical and prayer life, sacramental preparation, attendance at parish masses, visits by the parish priest, pastoral care programs, social justice initiatives, music and art.
Our Faith Journey
Beyond the Classroom
At St Monica's, our co-curricular programs aim to further develop and inspire students' skills, talents interests and passions.
School camps and retreats also offer fantastic opportunities for students to learn beyond the walls of our classrooms and to build strong relationships with their peers and teachers.
Sport
Sport is a valued part of our school’s curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child by providing a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning. Participation, enjoyment and skill development are the cornerstones of school sport. St Monica's students participate in a range of sporting activities such as:
- netball
- basketball
- soccer
- rugby (league and union)
- cricket
Representative pathways are also available through the Parramatta Diocese Catholic Primary School Sports Council.
