Parental Involvement

Parents are valued as partners in education and are encouraged to participate in school life.

At St Monica’s parents are valued as partners in education and are encouraged to participate in school life. Parents are involved in a growing number of initiatives from providing assistance and valuable knowledge to our gardening club, assisting in the canteen, attending working bees, supporting classroom learning, assisting with sporting teams, helping on excursions, helping in the library and with school Open Days. In addition we invite our parent community to religious celebrations including class liturgies and special occasions such as Grandparents’ Day and Book Week.

Parental involvement takes high priority at St Monica’s. One of the most proactive groups supporting the school in many ways is the P&F. Their assistance is especially significant in major fundraising events. Meetings are held at the school twice a term on Wednesday evenings. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. The aims of this organisation are to promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, pupils and teaching staff into closer cooperation, and to assist in providing desirable teaching resources.

How Can I Contribute?

Demonstrate to your children that volunteering is a good thing. Contact the school today by email or telephone 02 4570 3700 to become a volunteer.

We welcome the contribution volunteers make to the life of our school.

As we are committed to keeping students safe, all volunteers in schools are required to complete the building child safe communities undertaking form and child protection training module before volunteering. These checks reduce potential risk and forms part of our strategy to build child safe communities.
