Parental Involvement

At St Monica's, parents are acknowledged as their children’s first and most important teachers.

You are welcomed into the community in a shared mission in Catholic Education. Parents are valued as partners in education and are encouraged to participate.

Parents are involved in a growing number of initiatives from tutoring, assisting in the canteen, attending working bees, supporting classroom learning, assisting with sporting teams, helping on excursions, helping in the library.

Parental involvement takes high priority at St Monica’s. One of the most proactive groups supporting the school in many ways is the P&F. Their assistance is especially significant in major fundraising events.

  • Meetings are held at the school twice a term on Wednesday evenings. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Commencement time is 7:00pm.
  • The Annual General Meeting and election of Office Bearers of the P&F Association usually takes place in February.
  • The aims of this organisation are to promote the interests of the school by bringing parents, pupils and teaching staff into closer co-operation, and to assist in providing desirable teaching resources.

Volunteer Training

We welcome the contribution volunteers make to the life of our school.

As we are committed to keeping students safe, all volunteers in schools are required to complete the building child safe communities undertaking form and child protection training module before volunteering. These checks reduce potential risk and forms part of our strategy to build child safe communities.
